Expression of BursJF02260 RNAi in all border cells in an egg chamber using combination of the Scer\GAL4slbo.2.6 and the Scer\GAL4upd1.PU drivers results in a significant border cell migration delay and tethers (comprised of border cell membranes) holding the migrating clusters to the anterior follicle epithelium are observed.

Expression of BursJF02260 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in adults results in a significant reduction in the strength of circadian locomotor rhythms, compared to controls.

Larval development apparently proceeds unimpeded in animals expressing bursJF02260 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI, but the animals die as pharate adults which are unable to escape from their puparia. Occasionally, opened opercula are seen, but eclosion from the puparium is still not observed in these cases.
