The expression of DecayGD8484 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544, with or without Dicer-2 expression (for a more efficient RNAI) leads to curly but not opaque wings, which indicates growth inhibition during development without apoptosis.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4C10 leads to a significant decrease in wing size, as compared to controls. Wing discs do not show changes in apoptosis (assessed by PARP:VENUS signal and TUNEL assay), as compared to controls.

Adults expressing DecayGD8484 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Pupae expressing decayGD8484 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1 undergo midgut histolysis at a similar rate as wild-type animals.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 0% or 10-20% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Statement
Reference

Pupae expressing decayGD8484 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1 in a IceΔ1 Ncunspecified background undergo midgut histolysis at a similar rate as wild-type animals.

The delayed midgut histolysis phenotype seen in animals expressing Atg18GD12342 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1 after puparium formation is not enhanced by co-expression of decayGD8484.

The delayed midgut histolysis phenotype seen in animals expressing Atg1GD7149 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1 after puparium formation is not enhanced by co-expression of decayGD8484.

Pupae co-expressing decayGD8484 and BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1 undergo midgut histolysis at a similar rate as wild-type animals.
