The expression of DroncGD12376 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 leads to opaque but straight wings, which respectively indicate apoptosis but no growth inhibition during development. Upon additional Dicer-2 expression (for a more efficient RNAi), some wings become wrinkled or show blisters.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4C10 does not affect the overall wing size.

Expression of DroncGD12376 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not affect eye development.

Pruning of ddaC dendrites is delayed upon expression of NcGD12376 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9. The degeneration of dendrites after severing is unaffected however.

Adults expressing DroncGD12376 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

The co-expression of DroncGD12376 partially suppresses the severe decrease in size and the severe increase in apoptosis induced in the third instar larval wing disc posterior compartment by the expression of domeΔCYT.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.

Co-expression of DroncGD12376 results in significant suppression of the increased apoptosis and increased proliferation of the mutant domain, preventing tumorigenesis in flies expressing Rab5GD10492 under the control of Scer\GAL4salm.EPv (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the third instar larval stage) in the wing pouch.

Expression of DroncGD12376 in the developing eye does not affect the eye roughness seen upon expression of AcnScer\UAS.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
