actin cytoskeleton & eye disc | somatic clone
Adults containing homozygous clones in the eye have a similar ratio of mutant to wild-type tissue as eyes containing control clones. However, much of the mutant tissue appears black. Recruitment of cells to developing ommatidial clusters occurs normally and without delay in homozygous clones in third larval instar eye discs. The actin cytoskeleton appears abnormal in these discs, with actin accumulating in the mutant cells.
