Expression of grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4CCAP.PP induces partial death of CCAP neurons in the third instar larval CNS, with variability seen both within and between different insertion lines. Partial ablation of Crz neurons is also seen when grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4Crz.PC : protocerebral Crz neuron are faintly detectable, and 50-80% of ventral nerve cord Crz neurons remain alive.
When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, about 85% of animals survive. When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, about 77% of animals survive. When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF no eye phenotype is seen. When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 no notum or wing phenotype is seen. When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 no wing reduction phenotype is seen. When grimΔ86-98.Scer\UAS and grimΔ2-14.Δ86-98.Scer\UAS are driven by Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 a moderate wing reduction phenotype is seen.
