      Drives expression at larval stages in photoreceptor cells of the Bolwig organ, and at adult stages in eyelet photoreceptors derived from the Bolwig organ, and in photoreceptor cell R8. Frequently used in conjunction with ScerGAL4Rh6.PD as a panR8 driver.

      Fibers expressing ScerGAL4Rh5.PT contact the lateral neurons. Expression of ScerGAL4Rh5.PT was detected in the eyelet photoreceptor in only 23% of samples.
