In newly eclosed adults, GFP-tagged Sh protein is intensely localized to type I nerve terminals projecting onto the prothoracic ventral eclosions muscle, and weakly localized to terminals on the cervical and coxal muscles. Expression levels increase in the cervical and coxal synapses during the first five days after eclosion, with the exception of ventral cervical muscle 27, where expression remains faint. Strong expression is also observed at the type I terminals of the adult abdominal muscles. Extrasynaptic Sh immunoreactivity is also observed in all adult prothoracic muscles in a highly regular pattern resembling a reticular network.
There is no significant difference between numbers of type I boutons at muscle 12 between Sh<up>Mhc. T:Avic \GFP-S65T, T:Hsap \CD8A</up> larvae and wild type.

Useful for simultaneously observing the muscles and synapses in live, developing larvae.
