cDNA sequence nucleotides 589-1413 (FBrf0050626) is expressed from UASt regulatory sequences. This includes coding sequence for the N-terminal 272 amino acids which encompasses the first transmembrane domain and the first two residues of the first intracellular loop, and was put in frame with a heterologous RWL peptide followed by a stop codon. Contains 9 nucleotides of 5' UTR.

Expressing fzUAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand fails to induce defects in heart morphology or ostia formation in embryos.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4dome-PG14 results in mislocalisation of hemocyte precursors from the medullary zone into the cortical zone of the lymph gland, and differentiation of hemocyte precursors into plasmatocytes is observed.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4Antp-10 does not cause a reduction in the number of cells of the posterior signalling center of the lymph gland.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4lz-gal4 does not affect the number of crystal cells.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4fkh.PZ results in salivary gland guidance defects; a large portion of the salivary gland curves towards the central nervous system, with the curving beginning early, as the gland migrates along the circular visceral mesoderm.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 has no effect on furrow formation in the eye disc.

Expression of fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in a phenotype similar to that produced by overexpression of sgg.

No RP2/sib lineage defect is seen in embryos expressing fzScer\UAS.N under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, the two chiral forms of ommatidia are intermixed in the dorsal and ventral half of the eye. When expression is driven by Scer\GAL469B, posterior wing margin and anterior bristles are partially lost. This can be rescued by co-expression with fzScer\UAS.cZa.
