Description

Insertion of an inactive Dmau\mariner element.

Insertion of a non-functional Dmau\mariner element.

Insertion of Dmau\mariner into the promoter region of Dmau\w.

Inactive mariner element inserted in the 5' region of the untranslated leader upstream of the first exon.

Insertion of 1.3kb Dmau\mariner element into the 5' untranslated region of Dmau\w at position +3643bp (by comparison with the sequence of D.melanogaster w, coordinates as in FBrf0038648). The direction of transcription of the Dmau\mariner element is in the opposite direction to that of the Dmau\w gene.

1.3kb Dmau\mariner insertion at position +3757 into the 5' nontranslated leader sequence.

Spontaneous wild type revertants have been recovered.

In the presence of active mariner the insert undergoes excision at a very high frequency.

Can be assayed in D.melanogaster, after transfer into D.melanogaster genome via P-element mediated germline transformation.

Excision of the inactive Dmau\mariner element from Dmau\wpch by wild-type transposase is very efficient.
