Homozygotes have held-out wings, but are otherwise normal. Many heteroallelic combinations studied. Heterozygotes with esgGW2 and esgGW13 appear wild type. Heterozygotes with esgL2, esgL6 and Df(2L)A48 die as pharate adults that may have twisted legs.

Designated "hypomorph" because esgL7 over Df(2L)A48 is pupal lethal whereas esgL7 homozygotes are viable.
