Detailed Description

Degeneration of dorsal medial muscles occurs in aphs.PB flies under various heat shock regimes with the most deleterious effect of these muscles occurring when heat shocks are performed between ...

Larvae which have been treated overnight with heat shocks produce adults with a variety of wing defects, ranging from nicks to wing reductions.

When 6-7 hour old embryos homozygous for aphs.PB were heat shocked for 45 minutes at 37oC, two or three extra muscles appear in the position of muscles 21, 22 and 23 (which normally express ap) in segments A1 to A7. No other muscles are affected, either by being duplicated or deleted.
