Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

There is a 2.55-fold reduction in the number of clathrin-coated pits and vesicles in oocytes of yl15 females.

yl15 oocytes grow normally during development.

Strong phenotype. Oocytes produced by homozygous females contain fewer proteinaceous yolk spheres than oocytes produced by wild-type females. These abnormal yolk spheres do contain some yolk. The adult hemolymph of homozygous females contains a much higher level of vitellogenin than normal.

Eggs that are laid lack proteinaceous yolk and collapse due to fragile chorion.
