The wings are held at a 45o angle to the body and are slightly elevated in mutant flies. Veins L3 and L4 are fused proximal to the body and beyond the anterior crossvein which is absent. Distally the veins fuse and separate forming loops. The looping of the veins causes the first posterior cell to form into islands. The first basal cell is missing. The posterior part of the scutellum is flattened. The posterior scutellar bristles are absent and the anterior scutellar bristles are shortened, thickened and sometimes bent. The ocelli are missing and the ocellar bristles are reduced or absent. Shows the same viability and fertility pattern as fu1.
