Breakpoint(s) molecularly mapped

Molecular breakpoint localized approximately 10 kb to the right of the wa copia insert (Goldberg, Paro and Gehring, 1982, EMBO. J. 1: 93-98).

Comments on Cytology

w is not included in the inversion. A faint band exists immediately to the right of 3C1 at the distal inversion junction. The faint band could be a small non-inverted segment of 3C2, an extra element present between 3C1 and 3C2 which cannot usually be resolved from 3C2, it may have originated from the fusion of 12B9 and a non inverted part of 3C2 or it could be the inverted 12B9 band.

Left limit of break 1 from complementation mapping against w (citation unavailable) Right limit of break 1 from polytene analysis (FBrf0025595) Left limit of break 2 from polytene analysis (FBrf0058144) Right limit of break 2 from polytene analysis (FBrf0025595)

Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In this case, the "Export to Hitlist" button at left will also be disabled.
