Comments

The 5' (distal) end of this breakpoint corresponds to X:17 ,025,270 and the 3' (proximal) end corresponds to X:17 ,025,272 (release 6 coordinates). This breakpoint is associated with a 1bp deletion. (FlyBase curator comment: coordinates updated from release 5 coordinates of X:16 ,919,303..16,919,305 given in paper.)

This breakpoint contains sequence from the transposable element HMS-Beagle and 18SrRNA sequence, consistent with the proximal breakpoint being in X chromosome centric heterochromatin and suggesting either a complex breakage/repair event following irradiation or postinversion rearrangement of sequences. (FlyBase curator comment: the coordinates used for this breakpoint correspond to the distal coordinate of the heterochromatin border defined in FlyBase (from FBrf0213099) through to the end of the sequenced chromosome.)

Affected Genes Inferred by Location (0)
If no genes are listed here, it may be because the affected region is very large. The JBrowse insert above may show an error for the same reason, and other FlyBase tools such as CytoSearch may also fail for large regions. You can contact FlyBase for more help.
In this case, the "Export to Hitlist" button at left will also be disabled.
