The Df(3R)Espl9/Df(3R)Pr4 combination is lethal, and about half of the embryos develop weak neurogenic phenotypes. The Df(3R)Pr4/Df(3R)boss15 combination often results in about 40% of the expected embryos developing a neurogenic phenotype. About 50% of animals emerge as adult flies. They develop supernumerary macrochaetae on the scutellum, the central thorax and the sternopleurum and a higher density of microchaetae. The Df(3R)X10/Df(3R)Pr4 combination does not produce neural hypertrophy.
