Plasma membrane localization signal, KMSKDGKKKKKKSKTKCVIM, corresponding to the C-terminal 20 amino acids of the 4B isoform of the Homo sapiens KRAS gene. This sequence consists of a polybasic domain comprising six consecutive Lys residues plus a prenylation signal (C-terminal CAAX motif), which are both required to target the protein to the plasma membrane (PMID:8196769, PMID:1756714, PMID:10412982).
