Drives expression at all stages in a broad band centered on the dorsal midline.
ScerGAL4pnr-MD237 drives expression in the dorsal ectoderm of the embryo; expression is also observed in other tissues at later stages.
pnr eye-antennal disc expression is first observed in late first or early second larval instar in 5-7 cells in the dorsal margin or antenna and head region of the eye-antennal disc. During mid- to late- second instar, it begins to express in 30-35 cells and in late second instar spreads to 80-100 cells in the dorsal eye domain. Expression is not seen in the disc proper cells. Furthermore, expression is restricted to the peripodial membrane on the dorsal eye margin. By the third instar stage, expression extends throughout the dorsal-most region of the head and antenna. pnr expression in third instar eye-antennal discs evolves into 4-5 rows of cells on the dorsal eye margin. Expression overlaps with the morphogenetic furrow but does not coincide with retinal cells as it is expressed only in the peripodial membrane.
Expression in the larval third in is observed in the promixmal-most part of the presumptive notum in the wing disc, and in the salivary gland.
ScerGAL4pnr-MD237 drives expression in lateral mesothoracic tergum primoridum (presumptive notum); expression is driven only in the disc proper, and not in the peripodial epithelium. Expression begins early in the third larval instar.
Expression is driven in a wide dorsal stripe from the posterior head through the thorax and abdomen of larvae, pupae, and adults. In adults, the thoracic stripe is bounded on each side by the dorsocentral and postscutellar bristles.
In adults, y+ phenotype observed in a dorsal band along the length of the body, excluding the terminalia. Observed as adult phenotype; expression assumed to be earlier.
