Flies expressing AbiScer\UAS.P\T.ΔEna under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU in a AbiΔ20 mutant background show disruption to the integrity of cortical actin in nurse cells, resulting in detached cytoplasmic actin bundles and ring canals.

Expression of AbiScer\UAS.P\T.ΔEna under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU in a wild type background has no effect on fertility.

Comments

Expression of AbiScer\UAS.P\T.ΔEna under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU and Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 does not rescue the egg morphology defects and female sterility seen in AbiΔ20 mutant females. The flies are completely sterile and the resulting eggs are smaller and abnormally round compared to controls.
