    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 cells in adult females results in lethality. Inhibition of a subset of Scer\GAL4peb-GAL4 cells (using shits.FRT.stop.UAS at 33[o]C with Scer\FLP1ey.PN) in adult females significantly abolishes aversion to E2-hexenal and acetic acid, compared to controls; significant aversion is restored when expression is restricted to a smaller subset of cells using Scer\GAL80Orco, Scer\GAL80Ir64a.PA, Scer\GAL80Or85a.PG or Scer\GAL80Or22a.PG; significant aversion to acetic acid, but not E2-hexenal, is restored using Scer\GAL80Or42b.PG.
