Expressing armKK102545 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to a necrotic, very rough eye phenotype.

Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624-mediated expression abolishes cyst encapsulation and results in germline cysts completely lacking an epithelium. Affected ovarioles look like tubes in which naked cysts pile up.

armKK102545/+; Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch/+ flies fed on RU486-containing food exhibit impaired long-term memory, tested at 24 hours after 5X spaced training, whereas the 24 hour memory after 5X massed training or 3 minute memory after 1X training is not significantly different from that determined in unfed flies of the same genotype. Silencing arm expression in the adult mushroom bodies produces a specific deficit in protein-synthesis-dependent long-term memory. Flies withdrawn from RU486-containing food for 5 days regain a 24 hour long-term memory performance that is indistinguishable from that of the no-RU group.

Flies with induced expression of armKK102545 in the adult mushroom bodies (under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch) exhibit a significant decrease in 24 hour long-term memory after 5X spaced training using benzaldehyde as the conditioned stimulus paired, compared with flies of the same genotype that were uninduced.

When armKK102545 is expressed in dorsal cluster neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4ato.3.6 has no effect on the branching pattern in the adult medulla is disturbed.

Comments

Co-expression of armS2.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC rescues the long term memory of RU486-fed armGD1372/+; Scer\GAL4Mef2.247.Switch/+ flies.
