Expression of AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hand.ΔVM.Switch (initiated by feeding flies RU486 throughout development and adulthood) has no effect on heart function.

The mean lifespan of flies expressing AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI is much shorter (2.5 +/- 0.4 days) than wild type. The adult flies show significantly reduced climbing activity and appear to have a decreased metabolic rate compared to controls.

Adults expressing AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI show rapid loss of body weight and rapid loss of triglycerides compared to controls.

Cell death in larvae expressing AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI is increased compared to controls.

Adults expressing AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of AconGD1348 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD1348} insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.
