armΔ.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 causes a 'naked' phenotype, in which the denticles normally located in the anterior of each embryonic segment are partially or completely replaced with naked cuticle, when expressed in a wild-type or ciCe-1 background using Scer\GAL4hs.PB.

Homozygous embryos fail to form ventral naked cuticle and are covered with a lawn of denticles.

Metameric furrows fail to form in armS10.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4en-e16E embryos homozygous for ciCe-1.

In a ciCe-1 genetic background the mutant phenotype of P{UAS-ptc.J} expressed from Scer\GAL471B is enhanced, wing vein fusions extend along the entire anterior-posterior border of the wing.
