ScerGAL4Gr59a.1.5 drives expression in adult abdominal multidendritic neurons with with dorsal processes extending along the left-right axis, as well as in multidendritic neurons with lateral processes extending anteroposteriorly; these major processes have several protruding dendrites. Expression is also observed in projections to the abdominal ganglion.

ScerGAL4Gr59a.1.5 is expressed in gustatory neurons of all of the bitter-sensitive short labellar taste bristles.
