The P{Mae-UAS.6.11} element contains UAS regulatory sequences and a Hsp70 promoter at its 5' end, oriented so that in the presence of a GAL4 driver, transcription from the promoter is directed outwards from this end of the element. This can result in misexpression of neighbouring genomic loci when the element is inserted in the genome.
A diagram of the P{Mae-UAS.6.11} element is available at the [GDP Transposons page](http://flypush.imgen.bcm.tmc.edu/pscreen/transposons.html)
Note: y[+] fragment described as 7.9kb; y sequences are 7.7kb, with an additional unrelated fragment of 170bp at the 3' end. See note for construct P{Car20y}.
