Description

TNT-LC corresponds to the light chain encoded by the Clostridium tetani tetanus toxin (tetX) gene (UniProtKB:P04958). TNT-LC can be used as a tool to inhibit neuron activity; the toxin selectively cleaves presynaptic VAMP2 (nSyb in Drosophila), preventing synaptic vesicle exocytosis and abolishing synaptic transmission (PMID:12890769, FBrf0080431).
