Dear Rachel,
Can you assign the name spichthyin and abbreviation spict to CG12292.
I'm happy for a brief entry to this effect to appear in FlyBase at
this stage.
For info, the gene has appeared in public at a poster at CSH this
October (although it was designated as spg6 in the abstract submitted
months beforehand, and we used the abbreviation spic in the poster
itself). You might want to consider them as synonyms, unless you think
they're too ephemeral and restricted in their usage to count.
Thanks,
Cahir
