Proper spacing of non-BRC domain amino acids between BRC domains B2 and B3 of Brca2 are necessary for interaction with pds5. Removing these spacer amino acids disrupts the interaction. Region B2B3 of Brca2, including two BRC domains and spacer amino acids, is both necessary and sufficient for interaction with pds5.
