Gene model reviewed during 6.01
Pseudogene similar to Mst77F; one of a cluster at this site; transposed, with subsequent duplications; this copy has a large internal deletion.
May correspond to Mst77Y-15Psi (FBgn0262764).
Gene model reviewed during 6.02
Detailed characterization of the Mst77Y region (FBrf0228674) indicates that the release 6 assembly is only approximately correct in this region. The presence of 18 genes is confirmed, however, there are errors in the order and the precise sequences of the genes. The revised prediction is of 10 functional copies and 8 pseudogenes. Further explanation may be found in the 'Other Information' section of the gene report, 'Additional Comments' under 'Relationship to Other Genes.'

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
The 96 kb located at coordinates 85040-180612 of contig JSAE01000257 accurately represent the Mst77Y cluster.
Sequence of transcript(s) changed in r6 genomic release relative to r5 release.
Annotation CG43176 renamed CR43176 in release 6.02 of the genome annotation.
New annotation (CG43176) in release 5.34 of the genome annotation.
The Mst77Y region was re-evaluated using long-read single molecule sequencing technology. It was found that 6 previously identified genes (Mst77Y-2, Mst77Y-8, Mst-77Y-9, Mst77Y-5Ψ, Mst77Y-11Ψ, and Mst77y-14Ψ) were probable artifacts. Multiple new genes were identified that correspond to duplicate copies of previously identified genes. The current release 6 assembly is not entirely correct, in the order or precise sequence of the genes. The current prediction is of 10 functional copies and 8 pseudogenes in the following order, all transcribed from the plus strand: Mst77Y-17Ψ, Mst77Y-10Ψ, Mst77Y-1, Mst77Y-13, Mst77Y-3Ψ, Mst77Y-7a, Mst77Y-12a, Mst77Y-7b, Mst77Y-6aΨ, Mst77Y-6bΨ, Mst77Y-12b, Mst77Y-4a, Mst77Y-12c, Mst77Y-4b, Mst77Y-4c, Mst77Y-15Ψ, Mst77Y-16Ψ, Mst77Y-18Ψ.
