Description
Description
Protein disulfide isomerases catalyze disulfide bond formation (oxidase activity) and the rearrangement of incorrect disulfides (isomerase activity). They function as chaperones within the endoplasmic reticulum to ensure the correct folding of secreted/cell surface proteins during their maturation. (Adapted from PMID:15158710.)
