Term medulla columnar neuron MC63 ID (Ontology) FBbt:00111769 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition A medulla columnar neuron whose cell body is located on the lateral surface of the medulla cell body rind. It mainly arborizes in the ventral medulla, in layer 8. It projects to a small glomerulus in the lateral region of the optic glomeruli of the PVLP, dorsal to MC62. It also projects to the ventral accessory calyx (Vogt et al., 2016) via an optic lobe-calycal tract (Yagi et al., 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0232492 FlyBase:FBrf0232885 FlyBase:FBrf0233032 ]
