Term cholinergic local interneuron of the adult antennal lobe ID (Ontology) FBbt:00007403 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Unilateral, cholinergic local interneuron of the adult antennal lobe. It has a cell body located on the dorsolateral surface of the antennal lobe (Tanaka et al., 2012) and develops from the ALl1 neuroblast (Das et al., 2008).[ FlyBase:FBrf0192172 FlyBase:FBrf0207001 FlyBase:FBrf0219809 ]

Comment Inferred to be cholinergic based on choline acetyltransferase expression detected by reporter (Das et al., 2008) or antibody (Shang et al., 2007). They are thought not to overlap with other unilateral classes of dorsolateral ALl1-derived local neurons (type A/type B LNs) (Okada et al., 2009), as these are mostly GABAergic (Okada et al., 2009, Lai et al., 2008) - https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1373-1705.
