General Information
Term posterior endoderm ID (Ontology) FBbt:00005560 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition The posterior part of the endoderm from its invagination as part of the amnioproctodeal invagination during stage 7, until it becomes morphologically distinct from the hindgut primordium due to a epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition at the end of stage 10 (Reuter et al., 1993). This epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition is also the transition from posterior endoderm to posterior midgut primordium.[ FlyBase:FBrf0068651 FlyBase:FBrf0089570 ]
Also Known As "PMG" ; "posterior midgut rudiment"
