ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00005310 (Fly Anatomy) |
Definition |
A spermatid which is no longer round, in which the nuclear shape changes from round to needle-shaped, and in which the mitochondrial derivatives unfolds, splits into two parts, and elongates along with the growing axoneme, with the two derivatives becoming unequal in size. The mitochondrial derivatives assume a characteristic position to a plane that splits the central pair of axoneme microtubules which changes slightly through elongation.[ FlyBase:FBrf0064778 ] |
