Term adult ellipsoid body ring neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00003649 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Large field neuron that forms ring-shaped arborizations in the ellipsoid body that circle the ellipsoid body canal (Hanesch et al., 1989). These arborizations may form complete or partial rings (Hanesch et al., 1989). There are two main subtypes, which can be distinguished by their extent of arborization outside of the ellipsoid body and their developmental origin (Hanesch et al., 1989; Omoto et al., 2018).[ FlyBase:FBrf0049409 FlyBase:FBrf0240929 ]
