Definition |
The prepupa is the name given to the organism at the period of the life cycle that begins at puparium formation and ends when larval/pupal apolysis is complete, as indicated by the completion of imaginal head sac eversion and the expulsion of the oral armature of the larva. Duration at 25 degrees C is approximately 12 hours.
