neuroblast NB5-5 |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001425 (Fly Anatomy) |
Definition |
Neuroblast that delaminates at S5 and generates 8-11 large neurons including interneurons and neurosecretory cells (Schmid et al., 1999). In the embryo, one of these cells can be found in each hemisegment from T1-A9 (Birkholz et al., 2013; Urbach et al., 2016). This neuroblast does not resume proliferation in the larva (Lacin and Truman, 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0098344 FlyBase:FBrf0112030 FlyBase:FBrf0221210 FlyBase:FBrf0228122 FlyBase:FBrf0231327 FlyBase:FBrf0232096 ] |
Comment |
Schmid et al. (1999) suggest that NB5-5 may be equivalent to clone Y described by Schmidt et al. (1997). A neuroblast similar to NB5-5 was found in the embryonic mandibular (S1) neuromere by Urbach et al. (2016), but NB5-5 is absent from S2 and S3 and this S1 cell had several differences in marker expression, making serial homology unclear. |
