Term |
neuroblast NB2-4 |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001411 (Fly Anatomy) |
Definition |
Neuroblast that delaminates at S4 and generates a contralaterally projecting motorneuron and approximately 8 local interneurons (Schmid et al., 1999). In the embryo, one of these cells can be found in each hemisegment from T1-A8 (Birkholz et al., 2013; Urbach et al., 2016). In the larva, it resumes proliferation in all thoracic segments and the first abdominal segment (Lacin and Truman, 2016). The neurons that develop from this neuroblast after larval hatching form postembryonic lineage 18 (Lacin and Truman, 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0112030 FlyBase:FBrf0221210 FlyBase:FBrf0228122 FlyBase:FBrf0231327 FlyBase:FBrf0232096 ] |
Also Known As |
"lineage 18 neuroblast" ; "neuroblast 18" |
Comment |
Birkholz et al. (2015) suggest that NB2-4 generates postembryonic lineage 8 and NB3-4 generates postembryonic lineage 18, but Lacin and Truman (2016) provide lineage tracing and marker data showing that NB2-4 generates lineage 18. |
