ID (Ontology) |

Definition |
Embryonic interface glial cell that has its final (larval) position at the dorsal surface of the neuropil (Ito et al., 1995). There are usually four of these cells per hemineuromere in the late larva (Ito et al., 1995; Beckervordersandforth et al., 2008; Peco et al., 2016). Two of these are a sibling pair that will become larval astrocytes, the other two are siblings to the two ventral longitudinal glia, with one of these pairs becoming astrocytes and the other becoming ensheathing glia (Peco et al., 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0082171 FlyBase:FBrf0205499 FlyBase:FBrf0214261 FlyBase:FBrf0231858 ] |
