embryonic basal procephalic longitudinal glial cell |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001247 (Fly Anatomy) |
Definition |
Glial cell of the embryo that arises close to the boundary between the tritocerebrum and deutocerebrum (Hartenstein et al., 1998). There are only two or three of these cells early in stage 11, but they increase in number to around 20 by the end of stage 12 (Hartenstein et al., 1998). They spread out dorsally and ventrally, at the medial surface of the brain neuropil, reaching the precursor to the brain connective dorsally and the connectives joining the brain to the VNC ventrally (Hartenstein et al., 1998; Omoto et al., 2015). These cells become larval neuropil glia (Hartenstein et al., 1998).[ FlyBase:FBrf0105240 FlyBase:FBrf0214261 FlyBase:FBrf0229106 ] |
Also Known As |
"BPLG cell" |
Comment |
Thought to descend from Td7 neuroblast based on its position and gcm expression, but no direct evidence (Hartenstein et al., 2011; Omoto et al., 2015). |
