eye, with Scer\GAL4elav.PU
Expression of Ctr1CScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU results in animals dying as second or third instar larvae when they are fed normal food at 35[o]C. This lethality is rescued in a dose-dependent manner by supplementing the food with the copper chelator bathocuproine disulfonate (BCS), with almost 100% rescue at a concentration of 500 μmol/L BCS. The lethality is not rescued by supplementing the food with EDTA.
Animals expressing Ctr1CScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU at 18[o]C survive to adulthood but have an abnormal wing phenotype and rough eyes.
