Polytene chromosomes not examined but likely that bwV57e is the result of a rearrangement superimposed on SM1.

Eyes brown and mottled. Viability of bwV57e/bwV1 about 40% at 26oC and 20% at 23.5oC; body tends to be small; wings divergent and often not expanded; patches of unpigmented microchaetae. RK2A. Eye colour: brown; mottled.
